Suffolk Coastal Planning Committee approve Melton Hill

Suffolk Coastal District Council’s Planning Committee, with acting Chairman D McCallum and Landlady at The Bell Kesgrave, have now approved the contraversual planning application for High Density Flats at Melton Hill Woodbridge 19th April’18.

This was initially set for approval at SCDC’s Planning Meeting in October 2017 but could not be concluded because of lack of detail regarding affordable homes. Just over two years since the initial plans were presented to the local community by JTP, Active Urban the developers have been given the green light. To much surprise as the detail needed to complete the affordable homes still has not been finalised and has only been made a condition subject to approval at a later date – leaving this in jeopardy.

The initial 67 homes proposed and promised by Councillor Geoff Holdcroft have not be delivered but instead 100 homes without the detail of the 33% affordable home allocation. Let us hope SCDC can manage to deliver the much needed affordable homes for the Woodbridge community at this site.
